Charles King Received AAYLA Award

On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, Charles King was honored by the Amarillo Area Young Lawyers Association as the Old Lawyer of the Year.  The award is given to attorneys from Amarillo and the surrounding counties who have successfully mentored young lawyers, exhibit exceptional work ethic, and have a prestigious practice.

During Charles’ acceptance speech, he stated “I would just say to the young lawyers in the room that I hope that you have as great of an experience in practicing law as I’ve had.”  He shared storied about his early career, thank many of his personal mentors, and talked about the importance of taking time with family, finding great partners and staff to practice law with, and knowing when to say no.  Both Donna Peck and Shyla Buckner spoke about their time working with Charles and the positive effect his mentorship has had on their careers.
