Sprouse Shrader Smith is pleased to welcome our new associate attorney, Sara A. Winter.  Mrs. Winter’s practice primarily focuses on wealth planning, probate, tax planning and corporate planning.  She regularly assists clients with estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer planning, including the preparation of wills, trusts, financial and medical powers of attorney, and advanced health care directives.  Sara has experience utilizing advanced planning tools such as irrevocable trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts (ILITs), grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs), charitable trusts, intentionally defective grantor trusts (IDGTs), qualified personal residence trusts (QPRTs), and family limited partnerships (FLPs).  Sara also has experience in estate and trust administration.  She has assisted clients with gift and estate tax returns as well as judicial trust modifications and family settlement agreements.

Mrs. Winter’s corporate planning experience includes entity formation, mergers, conversions and entity dissolutions.  Sara has helped clients with asset and stock sales, buy-sell agreements, employment agreements, non-competition agreements and consulting agreements.  She has assisted numerous clients in obtaining non-profit status with the IRS.

Sara graduated from Texas Tech School of Law in 2010 and from the University of Washington with her LL.M. in Taxation in 2011.  In her free time, Sara enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two French Bulldogs.
