Litigation Associate Attorney

Sprouse Shrader Smith PLLC is seeking a litigation associate attorney.  This position is immediately available for the Amarillo office.  The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player with a strong work ethic.  The compensation package includes a competitive salary, excellent benefits, a well-defined bonus structure, and an enjoyable work environment.

Requirements include:

  • J.D. from accredited law school with strong academic performance
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing, or planning to take the Texas Bar Exam this summer
  • Experience preferred but not required
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Exceptional writing, research, and oral communication skills
  • Enjoy working as part of a dynamic team

Legal Assistant – Austin (Westlake) Office

Sprouse Shrader Smith, a distinguished, experienced, and respected full-service law firm seeks an experienced and qualified legal assistant to provide support to our Team and Clients.

Position Summary:

This position supports the delivery of quality legal services to clients by providing multidiscipline support through secretarial and administrative assistance to our litigation and transactional attorneys, working collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Possess the ability to draft correspondence, memoranda, and other documents.
  • File documents with trial and appellate courts.
  • Consistently and professionally communicate with team, clients, vendors and firm personnel.
  • Possess a high level of awareness and protection of confidential information.
  • Review and follow up on deadlines and calendar appointments.
  • Coordinate and make necessary arrangements for meetings.
  • Possess the ability to effectively proofread documents.
  • Consistently complete assigned tasks as expected.
  • Willing and capable to offer assistance to others when needed.
  • Coordinate monthly billing to clients.

Litigation Paralegal – Amarillo Office

Sprouse Shrader Smith, PLLC a distinguished, experienced and respected full-service law firm in Amarillo, Austin and Victoria Texas, seeks an experienced and qualified civil litigation paralegal to provide support to our Amarillo Litigation Team and Clients.

Position Summary:

This position supports the delivery of quality legal services to our clients by providing litigation paralegal services to our attorneys, working collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare initial drafts of written discovery, pleadings, and motions.
  • Prepare table of contents and table of authorities for briefings
  • Maintain trial calendaring schedules and deadlines
  • Filing and maintenance of paper and electronic files.
  • E-filing in federal, state and appellate courts.
  • Preparation of case, deposition, hearing, and trial notebooks and exhibits.
  • Perform legal research using Lexis and social media platforms
  • Schedule mediations, depositions, schedule court reporters/videographer, Zoom, and conference calls, etc.
  • Draft, prepare and send discovery to all parties per the attorney’s direction.
  • Prepare documents for production including organizing and Bates numbering

  • Paralegal certification a plus
  • Experience with CaseMap Suite and/or other database and trial presentation software a plus
