Joel R. Hogue is a Senior Member of Sprouse Shrader Smith PLLC.
Joel practices business litigation, particularly in the areas of banking, oil and gas, professional liability, farm and ranch, and other business-related cases. He is licensed in Texas and Oklahoma. He has tried cases in state and federal courts in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, and has also litigated cases in numerous other state and federal courts around the country.
Joel began his practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma and moved to Amarillo where he has practiced continuously for over thirty years. His litigation experience includes:
- Oil and gas cases involving lease termination claims, contract interpretation issues, adverse possession, surface damages, drilling and completion activity, operations, payment issues, and other matters
- Banking cases involving UCC issues, collections and foreclosures, check clearing, fraudulent transfers, regulatory examination issues, director/officer claims, and other matters
- Professional liability claims including those involving directors and officers, accounting, and appraisal issues
- Farm and ranch cases involving contracts, livestock fraud, grain elevators, surface use, and other matters
- Various other business-related cases
Joel also serves his community through board service on

Joel and his wife, Madonna, are parents to two children and grandparents to four grandchildren.
