Grant Z. Gibson, Sr., is a Member at Sprouse Shrader Smith PLLC. Grant is an experienced trial attorney dedicated to advocating tirelessly on behalf of clients across Texas. Grant is Board  Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. When he obtained his certification in Civil Trial Law in 2023, he was the youngest attorney in the State of Texas to hold the Certification.

With a reputation built on integrity, professionalism, and exceptional results, Grant has successfully represented numerous clients navigating complex civil litigation matters in a wide array of fields, including personal injury, commercial disputes, real estate disputes, and fiduciary litigation. He has tried cases in each of these fields and resolved hundreds more without need of a trial.

Through his extensive experience in personal injury law, Grant understands the judicial system is inherently unable to compensate individuals for the pain, suffering, and practical impacts caused by injuries resulting from someone else’s negligence. Nevertheless, he is unwavering in his pursuit of justice, ensuring his clients achieve the closest possible outcome to justice available to them. Often, the physical and emotional burdens of dealing with injuries are exacerbated by the insurance companies tasked with paying these claims refusing to provide fair compensation. Drawing on his insider knowledge of insurance-industry practices—gained from being forced to be on the other side of these cases early in his career—Grant effectively counters their tactics, ensuring his clients receive every cent they deserve for their wrongful death, negligence, gross negligence, and premises liability claims.

Though Grant is passionate about serving those who have been physically and mentally injured, his advocacy against insurance companies is not limited to personal injury cases. Grant has successfully handled first-party insurance claims for violations of the Texas Insurance Code, the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and breaches of good faith and fair dealing stemming from wrongful denial of other types of insurance claims. Specifically, Grant has handled fire damage claims, wind and hail damage claims, plumbing leak claims, and a wide variety of other disputes with  insurance companies.

Through his commercial litigation practice, Grant has represented numerous businesses and individuals in contract disputes, banking disputes, secured transactions, and DTPA claims.

In real estate disputes, Grant has handled construction-defect cases, disputes related to falsifying Seller’s Disclosures, and claims on bonds, mechanic’s, and constitutional liens. Grant also represents landowners in eminent domain/condemnation proceedings, demanding these landowners are justly compensated for the government taking their land.

In fiduciary litigation cases, Grant demands that people who rely on others to act in their best interest are treated fairly—whether that is in business dealings, probate matters, or other fiduciary contexts. He is committed to preventing exploitation and advocating for those whom have placed their trust and confidence in others.

Grant’s success has allowed him to be in the fewer than 1% of Texas attorneys to obtain Board Certification in Civil Trial Law—which requires extensive, first-hand trial experience, references of colleagues and judges, and passing a rigorous full-day examination. Further, Grant has been selected as a Super Lawyer and Rising Star by Thomson Reuters for the last several years in a row. Grant is also a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation (an honor bestowed on only 0.33% of Texas attorneys).

Grant earned a B.B.A. cum laude, from Texas Tech University. He then earned his law degree from Baylor Law School, where he distinguished himself academically and developed a passion for civil litigation, completing the Civil Litigation concentration. Since then, Grant has continuously expanded his expertise, remaining actively involved in professional associations and regularly contributing to the legal community through mentorship and education.

Grant and his wife, Caitlin, have two children, Grant, Jr. and Clarke. In what little free time he has, Grant enjoys spending time with his family, playing (and watching) sports, playing in his band, and reading.
