Practice
Iwana Rademaekers is Of Counsel with Sprouse Shrader Smith, and her practice includes the defense of private and public employers, benefit plans, insurers, plan fiduciaries, and service providers against ERISA and insurance coverage lawsuits, including claims for benefits, breach of fiduciary duty, statutory penalties, and state law claims. She also represents employers in discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful discharge litigation brought against them in federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate levels. Iwana has appeared as lead counsel in 21 states and in six United States Courts of Appeals and has a distinguished list of case victories across the country for her clients.
Iwana also counsels employers and executives on a number of labor and employment issues including discrimination, harassment, discharge, contract disputes, and benefits. In addition to her labor and employment law practice, Iwana has substantial experience with complex banking institution litigation on behalf of federal receivers, including asset recovery and tax cases.
Iwana has written and presented training materials on a variety of employment law and benefit issues, including litigation avoidance and significant management training for major employers. Recent topics of these engagements include fiduciary risk management, human resources best practices, and crisis management.
